When you purchase an individual course, you'll have lifetime access to that specific course. However, with a Planet Handpan Premium membership, you'll gain access to our entire catalog, including the Learning Lab, Rhythm Vault, and Groove Engine, for a monthly or annual fee. Keep in mind, though, that if you cancel your subscription, you’ll lose access to all content.

Does the purchase of a Learning Lab course include access to the corresponding Rhythm Vault and Groove Engine pack?

Accepted Answer

No, the Rhythm Vault and Groove Engine packs are sold separately. However, if you subscribe to a Premium plan, you'll have full access to all Planet Handpan content as part of your membership.

Does my handpan need to be in a specific key? What if I have a different layout or number of notes?

Don’t worry—our material on Planet Handpan is designed to work with any key or design of handpan. All exercises, grooves, and songs are pattern-based rather than pitch-specific. Even if your handpan is in a different key, you can still play along with all the material using the transpose function in the Groove Engine.

Do I need to know how to read music?

Nope! All courses on Planet Handpan use Louis Notation, a simplified handpan tablature system that's easy to follow. While a background in music literacy can be helpful, every exercise is taught by rote and broken down into manageable pieces, making it simple to follow along even if you're new to music notation.
